Countryside YMCA's girls' competitive gymnastics team program allows gymnasts to take their gymnastics experience to a competitive level. The goal of this program is for every gymnast to reach their potential through competitive gymnastics. The YMCA gymnastics team competes at local, state, regional, and national levels. The gymnasts range in age from 6 to 18 and compete levels 3-9 and Xcel levels. In addition, the team follows the USA Gymnastics Jr. Olympic Program. Participation is open to members only.

Although gymnasts compete individually, they are considered a part of the YMCA's competitive gymnastics team. Team members learn:

  • -The value and reward of hard work: Competitive gymnastics requires dedication and a passion for the sport.
  • -How to be a team player: Team members are a source of encouragement, motivation, and support.
  • -Good sportsmanship: Team members learn that treating other gymnasts with respect is of the utmost importance.

Along the way, our gymnasts forge lifelong friendships while improving their gymnastics skills and developing a sense of community. Of course, competitive gymnastics is also an excellent way to keep your child physically active while doing something they love. Our gymnasts are placed in programs based on their ability and age, so they may learn, grow and succeed.

Countryside YMCA is here to provide support, guidance, and structure if your child desires to take gymnastics to a more competitive level.
