It shall be the policy of the Countryside YMCA to provide
financial aid to individuals and families for the purpose of providing
life-enriching opportunities to persons who otherwise could not
afford YMCA Membership Fees.
Not
all persons have the financial means to join the Countryside YMCA.
There is a program established to open the doors of participation
to everyone.
The Dorothy Stolle Memorial Scholarship
Membership Program
This program is offered to persons or families who have financial
limitations which prevent them from joining the YMCA. For those
who qualify under our financial guidelines, membership is granted
with the stipulation that a member of the immediate family contributes
40 hours of work to the YMCA. The YMCA receives the work benefit
and takes responsibility for supervising the work of the individual
and recording hours. Consideration is given to current and past
employment, debts and financial loss, or circumstances which may
have temporarily changed a family's financial situation.
Confidential interviews are conducted with Denise Evans. For
those who qualify under our financial guidelines the member will
have approximately 120 days to work off the 40 hours. If a family
is unable to work due to illness or disability, hours may be waived.
