THE FOLLOWING ARE TYPICAL EDUCATION CLASSES

Click here to see the ART & EDUCATION section of our newsletter

SPANISH FOR CHILDREN:
This class is for children ages 8-13 years old. At this age children enjoy learning a new language. This will be a great class for the older student to learn Spanish to have fun and make new friends. Instructed by: Ms. Jennifer

Drawing for Children
Step by step instructions on how to draw and shade. Learn the fundamentals of drawing, and how to be an artist. These drawing classes are presented by a professional artist.

Clay for Kids
Come and have fun with clay. Kids-n-clay provides an ideal environment for children to explore their creativity while learning the craft of clay. As such our greatest joy comes when we can imply both our brains and our hands in ways which are creative and useful.

MUSICAL MAYHEM:
A great beginning to a life long love of music through dance, signing, and especially singing. Your child will learn about Rhythm, Musical Notation and expression.

Heathy Kids Day
Each spring YMCA’s across the country take part in YMCA Healthy Kids Day. It’s an opportunity for families to spend fun time together while improving their health.  Children’s health is a concern for the whole family. Parents can be the best role models for their kids, and kids’ health habits mirror those of their parents.  Healthy Kids Day provides kids and families with information on how to be healthier in all aspects of their lives. For the YMCA, good health involves the spirit, mind and body. A healthy kid not only eats right, exercises and avoids unhealthy substances like tobacco and alcohol but also demonstrates values such as caring for others and taking responsibility for improving the environment.

COME TO THE YMCA APRIL 12, 2008 for Heathy Kids Day, and celebrate the healthy growth and development of kids. Enjoy the activities and information that will be provided at this event.

Please be aware that class dates and times are subject to change.
