program. Course is taught by certified dive instructors. The
YMCA SCUBA program is celebrating 25 years here. There is

YMCA Skin Diving
This YMCA certification for safe snorkeling is a great way for
children 10 years old and up to learn proper and safe techniques
for skin diving. Students will learn how to use mask, fins, and
snorkels, and then progress to more advanced techniques of safety
and mobility. Students will receive a certification card upon
successful completion of the course.

Safety Course Offerings
Are you prepared for an emergency in your home? Many life-threatening
emergencies occur in or near the home. Being prepared for an emergency
is the most effective way to reduce the risk of injury and maybe
even death. There are many courses offered at the YMCA to help
you become prepared for life-threatening emergencies.
ASHI Professional
Rescuer CPR/AED
Both adults and child may suffer breathing emergencies, choking,
and cardiac arrest. You can increase the chance of survival with
the knowledge and skills you will learn in this course. This course
includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, obstructed airway management,
two-rescuer CPR and AED instruction. This course meets the requirements
for lifeguard certification. Sign up today, you could save a life.
ASHI First Aid
Did you know injuries are among the leading causes of unintentional
deaths? Many injuries are preventable and many can be treated
with Standard First Aid. The First Aid class offers instruction
for recognizing emergencies, controlling bleeding and care for
sudden illnesses.
ASHI Child & Infant CPR
This is the class no parent or childcare provider should miss.
This American Safety and Health Child and Infant CPR course offers
instruction for breathing emergencies, obstructed airway management
and CPR for infants and children.
ASHI Adult CPR w/ AED
The number of heart attack related deaths is increasing at great
speed in the United States. Heart attacks can happen anywhere.
Many facilities, including YMCA's, now have Automated External
Defibrillators or AEDs available. Use of an AED can increase the
chance of survival. This course includes breathing emergencies,
obstructed airway management and CPR for the adult victim only.
It also includes information and practice with a training AED
unit. The skills are practiced in a group setting.
