Program Experience
Our program provides care for children 6 weeks through Pre-K.  Our program is designed to meet the developmental needs of young children.  We provide experiences that enhance and enrich each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development.  Within the center’s daily schedule, each child has an opportunity to create, explore the environment, and to develop problem solving and personal interaction skills.

We emphasize five core values:  Caring, Honesty, Respect, Faith, and Responsibility.  We teach these to the children through day to day experiences, activities, and lessons.  We give the children an opportunity to use verbal communication to solve problems.  Staff serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm, and responsive to each child’s needs.  Parents are welcome visitors in the classroom and are welcome to be participants in our day as volunteers.
The Children’s Center maintains high standards in health, hygiene, cleanliness, and comfort.  In order to provide a stimulating learning environment, the Children’s Center is equipped with appropriately sized furnishings, playground equipment and bathroom fixtures designed to help your child develop self help skills.

Staff:
The Children’s Center is committed to hiring qualified degreed staff that are committed to providing quality early childhood education.  All staff members have background checks and exceed all state mandated trainings.

Curriculum:
Second only to human relationship, a well planned curriculum helps define a child’s experience in a YMCA program.  Curriculum affects all aspects of a program: over-all quality, parents’ perception, and the outcomes and benefits of the program for individual children.  To ensure that YMCA early childhood programs deliver high-quality activities and interactions, YMCAs have embraced The Creative Curriculum for Preschool.  The curriculum is consistent with the YMCA’s philosophy, which is grounded in a child-centered and holistic approach to early childhood.

Specialty Classes
Children can participate in extra curricular activities while at the center such as swimming, gymnastics, Spanish, soccer, dance and music classes for a minimal fee.
