GymnasticsThe Countryside YMCA offers a fun gymnastics program dedicated to helping every child reach their fullest potential, both physically and mentally.
We believe gymnastics training provides an excellent foundation in physical fitness, emphasizing the development of strength, flexibility and coordination, the basics of all sports.
Regardless of their physical talents, all children benefit from gymnastics activities. Therefore, we strive to create a safe, secure atmosphere that develops, in each student, self-discipline, self-confidence and enthusiasm as well as gymnastics skills. All of our classes are separated by age and ability to insure the safest and most positive learning environment.
Your children will experience the following:• Increased coordination skills
• Better flexibility
• Development of strength and power
• Sharpened motor skills
• Self esteem and confidence
• Improved social interaction
• Better listening skills
• Attention to detail
• Learn the fundamentals of movement
• Core values
• AND HAVE FUN!
Class Schedules include:Pre-School (age 2-6)The Preschool Gymnastics Program is structured to help participants develop self-confidence, self-respect and an appreciation of their own worth as individuals. We provide a safe and supportive environment in which to build a child's self-esteem. We feel that everyone should have the opportunity to be involved at some level. We strongly try to implement the character development of the YMCA by including the values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty in the programs. Above all, everyone should have fun while being given the challenge to increase skills in both physical and mental development. Due to the nature of progressions and class ratios, we are not able to offer makeup classes in gymnastics.
Progressive Girls (age 6-15)Gymnastics is progressive by nature. Classes build on top of one another. It is very important that parents understand that it takes a long time to achieve all the skills, strength, and flexibility necessary to advance to the next level. Gymnastics takes time, patience, repetition, and a love of the sport in order to succeed. In our classes, success is measured in small steps. We also try to implement the character development of the YMCA by including the values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty in classes. Due to the nature of progressions and class ratios, we are not able to offer makeup classes in gymnastics.

Home SchoolChildren work on flexibility, strength, floor exercise, balance beam, bars and vault. We teach them how to perform gymnastics skills along with character development (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility), self control and discipline. Things that will help them for a life time. All this through a "FUN" thing called "GYMNASTICS"! This is a great opportunity for parents to network and socialize with others.
