Dancing

 
 
 
Dance training helps students with problem solving, discipline, concentration, respect, responsibility, and helps them make new relationships with peers and classmates. Dance incorporates our Core Values, Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith into her class room. Listed below are dance classes offered for children 2 through 17 plus adult classes.

Classes listed below will not be offered for Fall 1. Classes will be back Fall 2.
 
Shoes: jazz shoes, black tie tap shoes, pink leather ballet shoes,
Clogging: T-shirt or tank top, shorts or pants that are easy to move in. Clogging shoes
Lyrical/Tap I
This class is designed for the child to learn basic steps in ballet and tap. A great class for rhythm, coordination, and self-esteem. Black tap shoes and pink leather ballet shoes are required.
Clogging I
For all ages. Learn innovative and fun routines with basic steps. This style of dance is high energy and a great source of exercise and a whole lot of toe tapping fun! Clogging is known as a “country cousin” of tap but today performed not only to bluegrass and country music but also to pop, hip/hop, jazz and many other styles of music. Students in our clogging classes may do exhibitions performing at local festivals, YMCA events, and more or just take the class for fun.
Creative Movement
This class is made to stimulate your child’s creativity with emphasis on the word “creative,” the focus is on physical and creative expression. Moving with other children is also a social experience, a form of non-verbal communication that promotes positive, appropriate interaction, builds self-esteem, channel their never-ending energy, and teach the basics of dance.
Hip-Hop Boyz I
This class is designed for boys who wish to express themselves in the style of hip/hop dance. A mix of hip/hop, street dancing, pop, and lock, and break dancing may be utilized. This is all done to hip/hop music, which is clean and fun. Boys can dance any style of dance. This is provided to have the boys unite in dance and talent.
Hip-Hop ‘N Jazz I
This class teaches a fun approach to dance by using hip/hop and jazz techniques. The class promotes coordination, rhythm, creativity, and self-esteem, while utilizing the most current moves of dance. The music and movements taught are upbeat, clean and fun.
Lyrical I
A combination of movements between jazz and ballet. This form of dance works on body positioning and poise while utilizing a combination of movements and modern form of dance. This will prepare the young dancer to perform using emotion and expression.
Jazz I and II
This class is designed with the purpose of learning the fundamentals of jazz dancing. Routines are put to fun catchy tunes. This is often a favorite style of dancers where they get the opportunity to add style and personality in their dancing.
Me and My Shadow Parent and Child Class.
This class is designed for the parent and child to introduced children to dance, music and movement. This will help to develop motor skills and coordination through the use of songs, games, which will introduce dance and music to their lives.
