THEATRE INFORMATION
The Countryside Acting Troupe offers children and youth ages 6 to 17 a variety of opportunities to learn about all areas of theatre through hands-on experiences. Students will be exposed to a variety of skills including acting, set design, costumes, staging, and directing.
Because the fall and winter theatre sessions involve preparing for and producing a show, it’s imperative for parents and their children to realize participating in the Countryside Acting Troupe means making a commitment to attend the practice sessions, rehearsals and performances. Parents are required to attend the first theatre class, where they will receive an overview of the session’s production and specific production requirements and be given the opportunity to volunteer to help with make-up, costumes, or sets at performances. Generally there are two or three stage rehearsals and one or two dress rehearsal on location. Rehearsal and performance dates will be announced at class and posted on the theatre web page. The summer Theatre I session differs significantly from the fall and winter sessions. In the summer, there is no final production, thus no stage or dress rehearsals. Students will produce and present skits in class only.
